Monday, Thursday, Friday 8:30am-5pm- closed 12:15pm-1:15pm for lunch Tuesday 8:30am-7pm- closed 12:45-1:45 for lunch
Wednesday 8:30am-4pm- closed 12:45-1:45 for lunch
**We “close for lunch” to allow a break for employees, but also use this time to return your phone calls, refill prescriptions and have necessary office meetings and education.
In almost all cases, appointments are available on a same-day basis with the exception of complete physical exams and surgical clearance appointments. If you need a same-day appointment, we will best be able to serve you if you call first thing in the morning.
If you have an urgent, but non-life threatening medical problem after our business hours please contact our main office number and follow the prompts to the answering service. A medical provider will return your call in a timely manner. Our providers partner with another internal medicine practice for weekends and holidays, so it may not be one of our providers that returns your call, but whomever returns your call will be able to provide appropriate medical advice.
For life threatening emergencies, please call 911. If you are directed to an emergency room either by our office or an on-call physician, we recommend either St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor or Providence Park in Novi. We also recommend the Urgent Care at the St. Joseph Mercy Canton Health Center (1600 Canton Center Road, Canton 48188). By using these facilities, you will ensure that we have access to any testing or records that are helpful in your follow-up care.
We complete prescription refills using a secure internet-based service. When calling for a refill, please allow 24 hours for your request to be completed.
You will receive a call from our office regarding any abnormal test results, we do not contact patients with normal test results without your request, with the exception of lab work ordered for physical exams. To request test results, please discuss with your provider at your visit or contact our office 72 hours after the test is complete.
Our providers make medical recommendations based on health needs and are not experts on each specific insurance plan we accept. They may make recommendations that are not a covered benefit of your health insurance plan based on your medical needs. We understand that health insurance coverage can be difficult to understand and will do our best to answer your questions. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to understand the requirements and processes of your health insurance plan.
If your health insurance requires a referral for you to see a specialist or to have any testing, it is your responsibility to contact our office with this information in a timely fashion so that we can process your referral. With the exception of extreme circumstances, we cannot process same-day referrals or authorizations.
We do all of our billing “in house”. If you have a question about a bill or charge you receive, please contact our front desk.
“No Show” Policy:
We allow one “no show” appointment with no charge to you. You will be charged $20 for each subsequent missed appointment, $60 for missed physical appointments. If you cannot make an appointment, or anticipate that you will be late, please contact our office to make necessary arrangements. This allows us to keep our schedule open for patients who need our services.
Please visit our website robertvartabedian.com
for a link to our patient portal. Once you are registered with the patient portal, it provides a secure way to communicate electronically with our office.
Feel free to contact our office with any questions. We understand that our patients have busy lives, but feel that some health concerns are best addressed face-to-face. We may determine that your questions are best answered during an office visit and our staff will help you schedule this appointment if needed.
